Text Box: The Bandon Historical Society was founded in 1976 as a non-profit organization.

The purpose of the Society is to preserve and present historical material relating to the history of the Bandon area.

The overall management of the Society rests with a 12 member board of directors who are elected by the membership of the Society. The board of directors meets once a month.

The Society has one paid employee, the Executive Director, Judy Knox.

The museum is open to the public 6 days a week and is staffed during open hours by volunteers.

The financial support of the Society comes primarily from membership dues, museum admissions, gift shop profits, memorial donations and other donations. The society also has fund raisers during the year to raise money for expenses.

About Us

Text Box: The museum always needs volunteers to help with manning the front desk, displays, building repair and upkeep, and much more. If you would like to volunteer, contact Judy at 347-2164.

Manning the front desk involves greeting visitors to the museum and selling the items carried in our gift shop. Normal volunteer shifts run for 2 hours per week. And you get to meet a lot of really nice people. Call either Judy at 347-2164 or Kathy Dornath at 347-2608.

Members who are volunteers can be considered for serving on the board of directors. If you’re interested in serving on the board of directors, contact Ron Knox by leaving a message with Judy at 347-2164.
Text Box: Memorial Donations
If you would like to make a donation to the museum in memory of someone, contact Judy Knox by phone or email. Or you can come to the museum to fill out a form. The museum has a memorial board where memorials are engraved on brass plaques and mounted.
